About Us

I am a life long resident of Laredo, TX. In 2007, I graduated from Commonwealth Institute of Mortuary Science and have been in the funeral industry for over fourteen years. Currently, I oversee all day to day operations of Gamez & Sons to ensure that all of our client families are given the best possible service and to ensure that funeral staff have the necessary tools and support.

What I find most rewarding about the funeral industry is the opportunity that we have to help our families during most trying times and the positive impact we have on them. 

When I do get a chance to get away from the office I enjoy time with my family, reading, playing guitar and watching cable news. 

After working over 30yrs for LISD and UISD combined, Martina currently leads the preneed division of Gamez & Sons. As a licensed preneed agent, she cares for our client families want to prearrange funeral services and provides support and training to other family service counselors.

Having been active member of Catholic music ministry for the past 36 year in the Diocese of Laredo, on her time off Martina is still very active with her choir, Onyxes de Jesuscristo. She currently participates in three parishes: San Luis Rey, Nuestra Señora del Rosario and Santo Niño and with the Cursillo movement.
